Learning Styles






Each student has a specific preferred learning style.
There are eight learning styles:


  1. Social:The students prefer to work and study together
  2. Solitary:The individual prefers to study alone.
  3. Musical/Auditory:The student prefer to hear things.The auditory learners are good in discussion.They are good in storytelling.
  4. Visual :The students prefer to see things.They like to see pictures .They like to take notes.They may not understand verbal instructions.
  5. Kinesthetic:They like to move.They like to carry physical activities.They can be easily distracted and they have short attention span.
  6. Logical/Mathematical:They are good in reasoning,analyzing,problem solving.They have the ability to think in abstraction.
  7. Verbal:The students like to use words.They like to read stories .They like to write.They are good communicators too.
  8. Combination:The learner mixes between two or more learning styles.The process of combination leads to success and development.
The role of the teacher is to implement different styles in her teaching process .It is highly recommended to use graphic organizer,and videos.In addition,teachers should encourage the student to participate in debates.
